The Atlanta Region’s Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) is developed annually and documents metropolitan transportation planning activities performed with federal, state and local transportation funds in the Atlanta region. The UPWP is developed in cooperation with the State, local governments, and public transportation operators and includes a discussion of planning priorities facing the metropolitan planning area.
The current 2025 UPWP was advanced by ARC’s Transportation Coordinating Committee on November 8, 2024, with approval by the ARC Board occurring on November 13, 2024. The document received final approval from USDOT on November 14, 2024. Three rounds of administrative modifications have been processed since the UPWP was originally approved: January 15, 2025, April 28, 2025, and August 18, 2025.
