W. Murphy Talmadge

Mr. Talmadge is a principal in the Public Policy Practice Group, based in the growing Atlanta office, focusing on US Southeast public policy and strategic advocacy. Murphy is also a member of the Public & Infrastructure Finance Practice Group and has extensive experience working with local community development regarding land use and public finance.
Murphy assists with business development and strategic counseling for the firm’s clients in specialty areas, including agriculture, education, energy, healthcare, religious institutions, tax, transportation, trade and international business.
Prior to joining the firm, Murphy served as the director of state government affairs at the Atlanta office of a U.S. law and lobbying firm. While there, Murphy worked with clients on issues related to public finance, real estate, public policy and general corporate matters.
Earlier in his career, Murphy served as president and managing partner of a full-service public affairs, government relations and campaign consulting firm, where he advised on numerous federal, state and local campaigns. Murphy has also served as an advisor and political strategist to statewide elected officials, state legislators and local officials across the Southeast.
