Everyone, it seems, has an opinion on transportation in metro Atlanta.
And now, the Atlanta Regional Commission is updating the region’s public participation plan to ensure that more of these voices are heard during the transportation planning process.
To help inform the public participation plan update, ARC has developed a short online survey to get your insights.
What transportation topics are you most interested in? How can ARC best keep you in the loop on our transportation planning work? Are blogs like this a good approach? What about roundtables or community events? You get the idea.
Through the survey, we are also gathering names of people who are interested in joining any transportation advisory panels that are created to weigh in on future issues, programs, or projects.
The online survey is just one of the ways ARC is gathering input for the plan update. We’ve held in-person and virtual open houses around the region, and we have also put together focus groups to make sure we heard from diverse perspectives. This included veterans, small & disadvantaged businesses, ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, limited English-proficient speakers, and older adults.
Our next in-person open house will take place on Sept. 4 from 4-7 p.m. at the Bus Barn (Line Creek Brewing) in the City of Fayetteville.
What’s Next ATL, produced by the Atlanta Regional Commission, is a community resource that explores how metro Atlanta is growing and changing, and how the region is addressing its most pressing challenges.
