Public Events and Meetings

ARC’s Transportation Planning Department convenes a range of events and meetings throughout the year to engage regional partners and the public on transportation planning, policy, and data. These include regularly scheduled committees, workshops addressing technical or policy topics, and public meetings and events associated with specific regional planning efforts.  Explore the links below for more on each of these events and how to get involved.

• September 11, 9:30-11:30 – Transportation Coordinating Committee (TCC)

Committees

• The Transportation Coordinating Committee (TCC) is ARC’s monthly meeting on regional transportation planning, typically held the first Friday of each month. The public is welcome to attend to listen or provide public comment.
• The Transportation Air Quality Committee (TAQC) is the federally-recognized policy committee for the Atlanta Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). TAQC meets jointly with ARC Board. The public is welcome to attend to listen or provide public comment.

Roundtables

• The Regional Active Transportation Roundtable (RAT) is a group made up of local planning staff and trail advocates from across metro Atlanta, which meets four to six times a year.
• The Model Users Group (MUG) serves as the forum for all users of the ARC Travel Demand Model and meets throughout the year.

Forums & Symposia

• ARC produces a Transportation Forum series, which brings together practitioners from across the region for workshops on topics like performance management, data, and emerging tools.
• In partnership with Georgia Tech’s Center for Urban Research, the ARC produces a Transportation Symposium Series to explore transportation research and policy in greater depth. Past topics have include The Future of Transit and Autonomous Vehicles.

Transportation Forum: Performance Management and Measurement Workshop

ARC’s Harry West Conference Center, 229 Peachtree Street NE, Suite 100, Atlanta, GA 30303

On August 21, 2026, ARC hosted a Transportation Forum on performance management and measurement, bringing together regional transportation professionals from local governments, state agencies, transit operators, universities, and consulting firms. The workshop covered how to select the right performance measures, apply high-quality data and analysis, and use tools like AI to support this work, and included small-group discussions on safety, asset management, mobility and access, and economic opportunity.
