Equity is a key pillar of the program. RLI examines how multiple regional challenges have resulted from structural inequality. To address those challenges and their impact on communities, regional leaders must understand the root causes and move with equity-centered approaches. What inequity do you believe the region must address to be successful and why?*

Intersectionality is a key pillar of RLI. We recognize that regional challenges require us to bring in multiple lenses and sectors to address the complexity of the challenges we face. We would like to learn about one regional challenge that is important to you. Please share with us how it intersects with other policy areas.*

In this program, we look at the whole leader and ask that participants bring their full selves, talents, and personalities into the space. Please share with us a unique or hidden talent you possess.*

Community is a key value and pillar of RLI. We carefully bring together a group of diverse leaders across the region and sectors. Bringing together such a diverse group means exploring a range of key policy areas that some leaders will have greater familiarity and expertise while other leaders in the cohort may have less knowledge. In our selection of a cohort, we look at individual candidates while also thinking about how the class comes together as a whole to create an impactful community of regional leaders. RLI is as much about learning, sharing your expertise and seeking new connections and collaborators in the work you do. In what ways do you seek to find new connections within a field, sector, and/or subject matter) you are already immersed in?*

RLI provides information, builds connections, and showcases initiatives and leaders that are impacting regional challenges to shape our region’s future. The program does not provide “answers” to regional challenges but creates space for regional leaders to learn, discuss, and network.
