Climate Pollution Reduction Grant – Climate Action Planning for the 29-county Atlanta MSA

ARC is working with communities across the 29-county Atlanta MSA to develop climate action plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve air quality, with funding provided by EPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) program.

Atlanta MSA Priority Climate Action Plan

ARC developed a regional Priority Climate Action Plan (PCAP) in collaboration with local governments and other stakeholders. The plan was submitted to EPA on March 1, 2024. The PCAP makes communities in metro Atlanta eligible to apply for federal competitive implementation funds to put the plan into action through steps such as fleet electrification, solar installations, and energy efficiency retrofits.

In the next phase of the planning grant program, ARC will develop a Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP) that will continue the work started during the PCAP planning process.

Applying for a CPRG Implementation Grant?

Implementation grant proposals are due to EPA on April 1, 2024.

Local governments and other eligible entities applying for implementation funds must include a reference to one of the priority measures listed in the Atlanta MSA PCAP.

CPRG Implementation Grant guidance documents are available to assist eligible entities with the preparation of grant proposals. The Notice of Funding Opportunity, Q&A document, and trainings/webinars should be especially helpful to applicants. Please direct questions about the grant application process or proposal requirements to CPRG@epa.gov.
