This webinar provided an overview and foundational understanding of the $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and how the legislation could help reshape the Atlanta region. The webinar, the first of a series on the IIJA, focused on transportation funding opportunities and is designed for planners, elected officials, and other stakeholders.
As the transportation and transit planning agency for metro Atlanta, the Atlanta Regional Commission is uniquely positioned to work with cities and counties across the region to help understand this complex legislation and navigate the opportunities to access federal funds. The ability to match these funds locally will determine how successful our region is in building a brighter and better future for the residents of metro Atlanta. ARC staff will help you navigate the process.
With cities and counties across Georgia eligible to apply directly for billions of dollars, the IIJA presents a historic opportunity to revitalize critical infrastructure – think transit and transportation; energy and the environment; broadband; and workforce development — in the metro Atlanta region.
This webinar will explore:
- What is the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law)?
- What funding opportunities are available for transportation projects and other needs?
- How do I find those opportunities that are relevant to my community?
- What are some of the resources the ARC is developing so that our region maximizes this once-in-a lifetime opportunity?
