The purpose of this project is to build the region’s preparedness capabilities. As a work program within the ARC, the Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Department (HSEP) manages Atlanta UASI on behalf of the City of Atlanta and the five core counties (Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett). The group’s duties include coordinating the planning, training, exercises, equipping, and communications among the police, fire, and emergency management of the six-member jurisdictions: all in preparation for any foreign or domestic terrorist event. Funding for this project is from Grant Award Number: EMW 2020-SS-00089 (FY2020 DHS HSGP) through the Department of Homeland Security.
