Here’s a quick quiz:

  • How does metro Atlanta rank in population growth rate nationally between 2020 and 2023?
  • How many metro areas had more multi-family building permits than Atlanta in 2022?
  • What percentage of metro Atlanta residents aged 18 and under have no health insurance?

These answers, and many, many more, are available at your fingertips through ARC’s 100 Metros Dashboard. (For the record, the answers are 27th, four, and 6%).

ARC’s Research & Analytics team recently updated the dashboard, so it’s a great time to take the tool for a spin.

The dashboard features an easy-to-use interface that lets you to compare metro Atlanta to 99 other metro areas across a range of key topic areas: demographics, housing, education, health, employment, and commuting. Each topic area , in turn, contains dozens of data points to choose from.

For instance, under the ‘commuting’ topic you can quickly learn the following:

  • The number of housing units in metro Atlanta that have three or more vehicles (537,328, which ranks 6th-most nationally).
  • The percent of metro Atlanta residents who worked from home (21%, 13th-highest nationally),
  • The Atlanta region’s mean travel time to work (30.9 minutes, 5th-most in the U.S.).

The data tool also makes it easy to compare two regions on major data points, such as population, GDP, median household income, and housing affordability.

Happy data hunting!
