Atlanta — Apr 19, 2021
The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) today announced Georgia Power and Uber as the agency’s 2021 Annual Strategic Partners.
The initiative is aimed at further engaging stakeholders in supporting ARC’s efforts to improve quality of life in metro Atlanta for all residents. The two companies have been ARC Strategic Partners since 2020, the program’s first year.
“Having the support of our annual strategic partners is more critical than ever. The pandemic has exposed many of the systemic challenges that our region has long faced. It will take close collaboration, across sectors, to address these issues and improve quality of life for all Atlanta residents,” said ARC Executive Director Doug Hooker.
Georgia Power Company, the state’s largest electric utility, has partnered with ARC at the Visionary level.
“We are proud to continue our collaboration with ARC to ensure that Atlanta remains a great place to live, work and play,” Bentina Terry, Senior Vice President for Metro Atlanta and Corporate Relations at Georgia Power. “At Georgia Power, we believe in being ‘a citizen wherever we serve,’ and this partnership highlights this commitment to strengthen our communities and cultivate partnerships that move our state forward.”

“Uber is thrilled to continue our partnership with ARC,” said Uber’s Director of Public Affairs, Trevor Theunissen. “Both Uber and ARC are committed to improving mobility and quality of life in metro Atlanta, and we are proud to support ARC’s robust planning and programmatic work that is driving our region forward.”
