“Malika is an energetic champion for the Atlanta region who brings a wealth of creativity, vision, and leadership skills to the table,” said ARC Executive Director Doug Hooker. “She has been a trailblazer in the strategic communications and marketing profession, with more than 20 years of experience in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.”

Dr. Wilkins joined ARC in 2016, serving first as Transportation Marketing Manager before becoming manager of Mobility Services. At SRTA, Wilkins spearheaded major public marketing campaigns, such as the GA 400 toll road closing, the introduction of Peach Pass to the Atlanta region, and the launch of the state’s award-winning Commuter Credits program involving tolling and transit.

As Director of Strategic Communications and Program Improvement for the Georgia Department of Human Services, Malika led the agency to winning 60 governor commendations for improved service to customers throughout the state. She has also worked with numerous elected officials from the congressional, state, and local levels in efforts to promote due process for law enforcement officials while serving as Director of Communications and Public Affairs for the Southern States Police Benevolent Association. Her private sector marketing experience includes working with global brands such as Gillette, Energizer, Lactaid, and Purina ONE.

Wilkins holds a doctorate in public policy and administration from Walden University, a master’s degree in public administration from North Carolina Central University, and a bachelor’s degree in speech communications from the University of Georgia.
