About Lynn Deutsch
Mayor Deutsch serves as the DeKalb County mayoral representative on the ARC Board.
Ms. Deutsch was elected Mayor of Dunwoody in 2019 after two terms on the city council. She also served on the city’s planning commission and in leadership positions in several schools and community organizations.
A long-time education advocate, Mayor Deutsch was appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue to the Master Teacher and Academic Coach Implementation Committee, and she served as the Vice-Chair of the Citizen Planning Task Force for DeKalb County Schools. She currently serves on the Legislative Policy Commission of the Georgia Municipal Association and chairs the policy committee of the DeKalb Municipal Association.
A graduate of ARC’s Community Center Design program and the Regional Leadership Institute, Mayor Deutsch has BA degrees in Government and Journalism from the University of Texas, Master of Science in City Planning from Georgia Tech, and Graduate Certificate in Gerontology from Georgia State. Lynn and her husband, Barry, have three adult children and rescue dog.
