About John William Bowers
Mr. Bowers serves as a citizen member of the ARC Board, representing District 1, which includes Henry and Rockdale counties.
He serves as the manager of the Georgia Wildlife Federation’s Private Lands Stewardship Program, helping private landowners enhance wildlife habitats and natural resources on their properties. Prior to this, he spent more than 25 years with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division.
He received a B.S. in Biology from Auburn University at Montgomery and an M.S. in Wildlife Sciences from Auburn University.
Mr. Bowers held various leadership positions in the Southeastern Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies, the Atlantic Flyway Council & Technical Section, and The Wildlife Society. He is a graduate of the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership and serves as an official scorer for the Boone & Crockett Club and the Pope & Young Club.
