About Jim Brooks
Mr. Brooks serves as a citizen member of the ARC Board, representing District 10, which includes parts of Gwinnett and Fulton counties.
He is the executive director of the Evermore Community Improvement District (CID). A former Georgia State Trooper, he served as police chief in Macon, GA, worked as a criminal justice consultant, and would later be named the interim city manager of Snellville, GA. His expertise in criminal justice and community planning led to assignments with the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. State Department.
Mr. Brooks has served on numerous boards, including the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, Partnership Gwinnett, Council for Quality Growth, Piedmont Eastside, Gwinnett Police Foundation, and Red, Blue, and You. He also works with Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America) Northeast Georgia Council, and the Young Entrepreneur’s Academy.
He has received many awards and commendations from federal, state, and local organizations for excellence in government performance. He holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice and a master’s in public administration from Georgia College and State University.
