About Jeff Turner
Jeff Turner serves on the ARC Board in his capacity as Chairman of Clayton County. He is also a member of the Governance Committee, the Transportation & Air Quality Committee, the Community Resources Committee, the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District, and the Senior Policy Group of the Urban Area Security Initiative.
Chairman Turner was elected in 2012. Prior to public office, he spent 23 years in law enforcement, beginning as a patrolman and rising through the ranks to become the first African American Chief of Police in Clayton County.
Chairman Turner has lived in Clayton County most of his life. He graduated from Morrow High School, earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice and went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Columbus State University.
He and his wife, Darlene, are married with four sons and attend Greater Works Missionary Baptist Church in Forest Park.
