About Edward Johnson
Edward Johnson serves as the Fayette County mayoral representative on the ARC Board.
Mayor Johnson took office on the Fayetteville City Council in January 2012. He has served as mayor since January 2016. He says he is encouraged by the city’s growing sense of community as it manages its rapid development and growth.
A native of New Orleans, Mayor Johnson is a retired U.S. Navy commander and educator who now serves as full-time pastor of Flat Rock African Methodist Episcopal Church near Fayetteville.
Johnson and his wife, Dr. Vanessa O. Johnson have two sons and three granddaughters. The Johnsons moved to Fayetteville in 1994 for the school system.
