He was elected mayor of Sugar Hill in 2021 after serving eight years on the city council. He works to instill a sense of community, helping to restore Crayfish Creek and to create the Sugar Hill Greenway, the veterans memorial, the Suite Spot small business incubator and more.
Professionally, mayor Hembree is a partner with Impact Public Affairs. Previously, he served as a staff aide for the Senate Appropriations Committee, as a Legislative Associate with Ford Motor Company’s southeastern governmental affairs office, and as the marketing, governmental affairs, communications, and customer service director for the Georgia Department of Administrative Services.
A graduate of Berkmar High School, Mayor Hembree graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelor’s in Political Science/Pre-Law. He and his wife, Tara, are active members of Sugar Hill Church.
