The prefix "MTP24" refers to the Atlanta Metropolitan Transportation Plan, adopted in February 2024. The base year for this plan is 2020 with intermediate years of 2030, 2033, 2040, and a horizon year of 2050. Over time, as new regional projects are planned, the intermediate and horizon year models will be updated. Updated models will be released using the prefix "Amd" and an identifying iteration, such as "Amd 1" for the first round of project updates. The final step in the MTP approval process is receipt of a conformity determination from U.S. DOT, which signifies the plan meets all federal metropolitan planning requirements and the region can move forward with implementation. That decision may take up to 30 days following the passage by the ARC Board and submittal of all documentation by ARC.
