Coming of Age in America
Wednesday, June 28 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pmFree
Join ARC at the Atlanta Screening of Coming of Age in Aging America
What will it mean for all of us to grow up, live and age in a society where half the citizens are over the age of 50? That reality is closer than most of us are willing to imagine. And Atlanta has one of the fastest growing older adult populations in the country.
Never in human history have so many lived for so long – and not just in the United States. In the last 100 years, life expectancy has soared from the early 40s to the mid-80s, and projections suggest that this trend will continue.
What does it mean to live beyond life expectancy? Beyond expectations? Who are the individuals pioneering this new phase of life, confronting both the challenges and the opportunities of longevity?
Coming of Age in Aging America tells the story of the dimensions, challenges and opportunities of this spectacular social transformation.
